Jiu-Jitsu isn’t just for the mats — it’s a way of life.

With 20+ years dedicated to the “gentle art,” Marcelo Nonaca, a 3rd-degree black belt and lifelong student of Jiu-Jitsu, wanted to share the spirit of the sport in a new, creative way. As a father of three, he’s always been about more than just armbars and sweeps. Jiu-Jitsu is about patience, respect, perseverance, and a good laugh along the way.

Battle-Jitsu was born during the pandemic, when the world shut down and rolling on the mats wasn’t an option. Instead of just sitting around and doom-scrolling, Marcelo and his sons decided to bring the battles to the living room... one scribbled idea at a time.

What started with scraps of paper and bad drawings turned into something real: a fun, strategic card game that brings the thrill of Jiu-Jitsu to anyone, anywhere.

From trial-and-error prototypes to printed decks, it became a family project full of late-night laughs, arguments over rules, and a lot of “let’s just try it this way.” More than anything, it was a way to stay connected to the sport they love — and a way for Marcelo to teach his boys the magic of building something from nothing.

Battle-Jitsu isn’t just a card game. It’s a tribute to the mindset of Jiu-Jitsu: adapt, flow, fight smart, and always, always have fun doing it.

Thanks for checking it out — we hope you enjoy playing it as much as we enjoyed creating it.
